Biblical Time Line

THE LAST 6,000 YEARS:

Year 1 (approximately 4000 BC) :

After thousands of years (quite possibly millions), God decided to reclaim his property. He came over and turned on the lights.

Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. Genesis 1:3

But the earth was still covered with water.

Then God said, "Let there be a firmament in the midst
of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters."
Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which
were under the firmament from the waters which were above
the firmament; and it was so. And God called the firmament
Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
Then God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered
together into one place, and let the dry land appear"; and
it was so. And God called the dry land Earth, and the
gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw
that it was good. (Genesis 1:6-10)

Year 2000 (2000 BC):

God destroyed earth, again, with water - flood, except for one family - Noah's. God promised never to destroy the earth ever again with water. (Gen 9:13-15)

Year 4000 (1 AD Approximately):

God sent His Son into the world to free man from domination of Lucifer, alias Satan, alias the devil.

Death is a direct result of sin. Lucifer is the father of sin and is very comfortable wielding the power of death. God does not take pleasure in such.

"God is Light and in Him is no darkness at all."
   (1 John 1:5)

To defeat Lucifer and save man from death (eternal separation from God) God planted a child in a virgin's womb. This child grew up to be Jesus Christ.

To many people, this is the most ludicrous thing they've ever heard. The Muslims, in their holy book, the Koran, devoted a whole book to the issue. In the book of Mary (in the Koran), they portray Jesus as a prophet and quoted Him as saying:

"I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the gospel and
ordained me a prophet. His blessing is upon me wherever
I go, and He has commanded me to be steadfast in prayer and
to give alms to the poor as long as I shall live. He
has exhorted me to honor my mother and has purged me of
vanity and wickedness. I was blessed on the day I was
born, and blessed I shall be on the day when I shall be
raised to life." (Mary 19:30-33, The Koran)

Then they comment:

Such was Jesus, the son of Mary. That is the whole
truth, which they are unwilling to accept. Allah forbid
that He Himself should beget a son! When He decrees a
thing He need only say: "Be," and it is.
   (Mary 19:34-35, The Koran)

They are right about one thing, when God wants anything to come into existence, all He has to do decree it and there it is.

In Genesis 1:3, God said: "Let there be light." And, we read, "there was light." The same thing happened when Christ was born. God decreed that a virgin would bear a son. It happened. Why is that so difficult to believe?

In the mid-1700s an Italian biologist performed the world's first documented artificial insemination, using two dogs in his house. A few years later, a Scottish doctor apparently facilitated -- in secret -- the first human artificial insemination. (The Center for the Study of Technology and Society)

Until quite recently, (except for those who have come to accept God's word at face value) most people found it unbelievable for a woman to have a child without a sexual intercourse. Today, we hear about artificial inseminations. We hear about sperm banks. We watch our television and witness how doctors remove eggs from a woman, fertilize in test tubes and then replant into a woman - may not be the original egg donor. We watch as such eggs develop into healthy little boys and girls. As we watch, we should realize that God did the same thing two-thousand years ago. Because He is God, He only said the word, and Mary become pregnant with child - Jesus Christ, who, without any doubt, is the son of God, and, therefore, God in the flesh.

Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid,
Mary, for you have found favor with God.
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and
bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.
He will be great, and will be called the Son of
the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the
throne of His father David. And He will reign over
the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom
there will be no end." Then Mary said to the angel,
"How can this be, since I do not know a man?"
And the angel answered and said to her,
"The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the
   power of the Highest will overshadow you;
therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born
will be called the Son of God.
Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also
conceived a son in her old age; and this is
now the sixth month for her who was called barren.
For with God nothing will be impossible."
   (Luke 1:30-37)

It was because of this very event that God created man. Some people have said that God created man for fellowship with Himself. This is true, but it is not the major reason. God was not lonely. He had, and still has, millions of angels at His disposal - for fellowship if necessary. God, as I said earlier, could not associate with death.

Because death is evil, God created man, a being a little lower than the angels (Ps 8:5; Heb 2:7&9), yet, designed to live forever.

God accomplished that by "breathing into man" (Gen 2:7).

Anything that is of God lasts forever.

This "being" - man, was also weak-minded by design. The fall of Adam and Eve (Gen 3) was foreseen by God. Lucifer thought he won a battle since man now had sinned and, therefore, vulnerable to death - enslavement in the Satan's kingdom.

God, somehow, had to get into Satan's kingdom and the only way to do it is as a man because God cannot die. Death is Lucifer's enslavement tool.

God's son, Jesus Christ, came for two reason:

1. He had to experience death in order to subdue Satan in his kingdom of darkness.

Since, therefore, [these His] children share in flesh and blood [in the physical nature of human beings], He [Himself] in a similar manner partook of the same [nature], that by [going through] death He might bring to nought and of no effect him who had the power of death - that is, the devil ... (Hebrews 2:14, The Amplified Bible)

2. To save mankind from sin and the devil.

You were dead in sins, and your sinful desires were
not yet cut away. Then He (God) gave you a share in
the very life of Christ, for He forgave all your sins
and blotted out the charges proved against you, the list
of His commandments which you had not obeyed. He took
this list of sins and destroyed it by nailing it to
Christ's cross. In this way God took away Satan's
power to accuse you of sin, and God openly displayed
to the whole world Christ's triumph at the cross
where your sins were all taken away."
(Colossians 2:13- 15, The Living Bible)

Referring to the above passage, I would like to say that translation into 'modern language' has resulted in loss of meaning. The more modern we make the Bible, the more we loss the sacred meaning of what God is trying to convey to us. Below is the same passage in New King James version - a translation closer to the original Authorized king James version.

And you, being dead in your trespasses and the
uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive
together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that
was a gainst us, which was contrary to us. And He
has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the
cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He
made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them
in it. (Colossians 2:13 -15 ,KJV)

The one thing that stands out in this translation that is not easily distinguishable in the "modern" version is that Christ 'disarmed principalities and powers'. This complements what Hebrews 2:14 says:

'for only as a human being could He die and in dying
break the power of the devil who had the power of
   death.' (Living Bible)

Why is this important?

Christ did not just take away Satan's power to accuse mankind, He also took away his authority to make man remain in sin. Christ wrested (took by force) the power of death from Satan. He alone could have done it. Once He hinted:

"No one can enter a strong man's house and plunder
his goods, unless he first binds the strong man, and
he will plunder his house." (Mark 3:27)

Satan's kingdom is still fighting to divert people's attention from Him who alone can give life to God's wonderful creations - man. This is an on - going fight, a real dark side trying to draw man into a camp full of things that satisfy the flesh and desensitize the conscience. And so God's word tells us:

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but
against principalities, against powers, against the
rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts
of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)

Yes, Jesus Christ came to free us this terrible enemy. His death on the cross is the only payment acceptable to God for the sin of man. If we understood what took place during the three days He was dead, we would never give in to the devil's tricks. It was then that He descended into hell, Satan's domain, and subdued him. It was only after His resurrection that He could make this claim:

I Am the First and the Last, the Living One who
died, who is now alive forevermore, who has the keys
of hell and death. (Revelation 1:17-18, The Living Bible)

In a nutshell, Jesus Christ is the Ultimate Judge of man. Right now He is playing the role of YOUR SAVIOR. As long as you breath, you have a chance of eternal life with God. The moment you die, you are lost forever if you never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior.

Year 6000 (2000 AD):

This period will fall on the year 2000. If you have observed what I have observed from Year 1, you will notice that God seems to embark on major projects every 2000 years. This is of course "my thinking". I feel that our Lord and savior Jesus Christ is due back on earth very soon. It might even be before the year 2000. No one knows exactly when that will be. Jesus said that even the angels do not know when that will be. Only God knows.

"But of that day and hour no one knows, no, not
even the angels of heaven, but my Father only."
         (Matthew 24:36)

What Jesus did, He did for the entire human race. The price has been paid for my sins and yours. Jesus Christ is the One and ONLY Filter through which God can see you in order to honor you, protect you, and reserve your peaceful place in eternity. There is only one requirement:

YOU MUST APPLY FOR IT.

You must ask Jesus to come into your life and take over its management.

Like the TV commercial says: "Get met, it pays".

I implore you right now:

Ask Jesus into your life, it's your only chance to escape Lucifer who has vowed to destroy God's beautiful creation - YOU.
